A nursery greenhouse can be a part of a diversified greenhouse project or can be run as an independent enterprise. Greenhouse nurseries protect young plants from harsh weather (particularly frost), whilst still allowing access to light and ventilation. Greenhouse nurseries use automated control of temperature and semi-automated watering and feeding systems.
Greenhouse nurseries also feature movable roofs which allow “hardening-off” of plants without the need for manual transfer to outdoor beds. There are three phases in the nursery process: Propagation, growing out and transfer/Retail, Some nurseries specialize in one phase of the process only or in one type of plant
